Simone Graham – Editor: The 70th Annual Hesperia Days, a family tradition since 1948, is held at Hesperia Lake Park on Saturday, September 15th and Sunday, September 16th beginning at 11:00 a.m. With vendors, food, live music, activities for the kids and a fireworks display there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. The fireworks display is on Saturday, September 15th in the evening. The Hesperia Days Parade starts at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday (see city street map). The Hesperia Days Run/Walk/Skate 5K kicks off the weekend festivities. Race time starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp. The starting line is on the southeast corner of Main Street and ‘E’ Avenue. Runners check in between 6:45 -7:30 a.m. at the Percy Bakker Center, 9333 ‘E’ Avenue. Walkers, Strollers, and Skaters meet at the start line by 7:50 a.m.

Note: While the event is designed for humans, your canine companions are welcome to attend. We would like to remind you that all dogs must have and wear a current and valid license and must be restrained on a leash no longer than six feet; this will be strictly enforced. Also, domestic animals are not allowed in the lake, ponds, or stream water; and please be courteous to the other guests by kindly picking up and disposing of your pet’s waste in the trash receptacles provided. Join the High Desert’s largest community street fair of the year. This FREE, family-oriented event features live music and dance performances, an array of food vendors, hundreds of arts, crafts and merchant vendors, information booths and FREE activities and rides for children and the young at heart. There is a live concert Friday, Oct. 5th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; the street fair is Saturday, Oct. 6th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The TABU band will be kicking off the music Sunday at 11:00 a.m. (first band starts at 10:00) Come early and get a good seat, this is a free event.  Bring your mad money and enjoy cruising the vendor stalls for food or trinkets while you listen to all the great music. To learn more about this event and how to become a sponsor or vendor:
