Two Days Left To Register Float Entries In Hesperia Days Parade

HESPERIA, Calif  — The Hesperia Days Parade is scheduled to cruise down Main Street on the morning of Sept. 21 and local groups, organizations and businesses are invited to participate. The Hesperia Centennial Lions Club, which organizes the annual parade, is seeking float participants to join the fun for only $25 per entry. The parade welcomes more than 100 entries each year along with thousands of spectators who line Main Street between E and I avenues to watch the action.

The event is a prime opportunity for local groups and organizations to showcase their community spirit, increase public awareness and advertise their mission in front of numerous residents, families and community leaders. This year’s parade, themed “Under the Big Top,” will feature Grand Marshall Bruce Henderson, also known locally as “#BH29,” a star Sultana High School athlete who suffered a traumatic brain injury during a football game in September 2016.

The parade is part of the official kick-off to the annual Hesperia Days weekend and serves as one of many events to celebrate the city, its residents and history. The deadline to register a parade entry is noon on Friday, Sept. 13. Applications are available at Hesperia Centennial Lions Club, co-located with Rock’n Our Disabilities Foundation office at 13558 Palm St. in Hesperia.

The Hesperia Days Parade begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the corner of I Avenue and Main Street and continues west to E Avenue. For more information, call Hesperia Centennial Lions Club Vice President and parade committee chair Dana Hernandez at 760-998-2241.
