2019 Apple Valley Airshow: See The USAF F-16 Viper Demo Team Heritage Flight

APPLE VALLEY, CA – The Apple Valley Airshow and NAPA© Auto Parts Car Display promises to be the most exciting Victor Valley event ever. Saturday, October 12, 2019 is the date to Save!

The Apple Valley Airshow attracts spectators from all over Southern California.It is a big favorite with families. This year’s line-up includes the USAF F-16 Viper Demo Team Heritage Flight with the F-86 Sabre, US Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento with the C-27J Spartan, Dawn Patrol RV Formation Team, breathtaking aerobatics by the Red Eagles Aerobatic Formation Team, Air Racer Tony Higa in the Pitts, Chuck Coleman in the Extra 300, Jerry Conley in the De Havilland Vampire, Tom Larkin in the Mini Jet, Yuichi Takagi in the Pitts, and Rob Harrison “The Tumbling
Bear” in the Zlin 142C.

 

You will see not only aerobatics, but also favorites like Rich Piccirilli with Just In Time Skydivers, military airplanes, vintage warbirds like the North American P-51 Mustang, TBM-3E Avenger and SBD-5 Dauntless from Planes of Fame Air Museum. Spectators will have the opportunity to meet all the pilots and get autographs after their performances.

Community groups, volunteer organizations and our sponsors are a big part of the airshow. The show provides scholarships for local students in the STEM field. This has been a huge success.

This year’s show is dedicated in memory of a national, and local hero, Capt. Joseph McConnell. He served not only in WWII, but also in the Korean War. After the wars, he was assigned to George Air Force Base in Victorville, now called Southern CA Logistics Airport to train in the F-86 fighter jet and went on to a career at Edwards Air Force Base as a test pilot. He called Apple Valley his home.

You can browse booths offering information, souvenirs, food and a Rotary Club of Apple Valley Beer Garden. Gates are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aerial demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is only $8 cash, military active-duty and reserve with ID only $5 cash, children 11 and under free. Parking is free. Apple Valley Airport is located off of Hwy. 18. Take Hwy 18 to Corwin Road in Apple Valley. No animals except service animals are allowed at the event. No large coolers and no alcoholic beverages are allowed, no canopies or large umbrellas either. Bring chairs, sitting blankets, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen; and don’t forget your camera.
